7 Mistakes that Pilates Instructors can fix today
By PilatesStyle ·
We all get caught up in our daily routines and race from class to client. Here are 7 mistakes commonly made by instructors that you can fix today!

Never calling clients to check in. A quick personal call after a missed class, a tough week, or a milestone shows you care about the person, not just the booking. It's the cheapest retention tool there is.
Over-cueing. Talking nonstop pulls clients out of their bodies. Cue less, choose words carefully, and leave silence so they can feel the movement.
Teaching the choreography, not the person. Running the same class plan regardless of who's in the room misses injuries, asymmetries, and goals. Adapt to the body in front of you.
Skipping intake and progress tracking. Without a baseline, you can't show progress. Note starting points, goals, and limitations, and revisit them every month or so so clients see how far they've come.
Moving too fast to progress. Many instructors advance exercises to keep things interesting for themselves. Clients benefit more from mastering the fundamentals: breath, pelvic placement, and control.
Ignoring the first and last two minutes. A warm greeting and a clear, personal send-off ("Here's what to notice this week") are what people remember. Many instructors rush both.
Not asking for feedback or referrals. Clients are often happy to share what's working or bring a friend, but only if asked. A simple "Who else would love this?" can fill your schedule.
